In celebration of its 20th Anniversary Season the RIT/NTID Dance Company proudly presents "OZ" a dance adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz."

The production is an original re-telling and blending of the traditional story with some modern adaptations and features a wide variety of music; selections from the film "The Wizard of Oz" as well as music from Africa, hip-hop, and House Techno. There's even some classic work by Bach included in the mix!

In the story, which is told completely in dance and movement with a little help from video projections and other special effects, the "Four Friends" (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion) wend their way through OZ and the Emerald City seeking the infamous Wizard. Along the way they meet Munchins (played by children from the Rochester School for the Deaf), are chased by roller-blading "Flying Monkeys", are dazzled by live circus acts, and swept away by the Step-Dancing Yellow Brick Road Dancers. And of course, they have encounters with an evil witch.

This is a production that has to be seen to be believed! Extraordinary imagery, thanks to the set, costume and lighting designs of Ethan Sinnott, Jenn Guadagno, and Nic Minetor, blends beautifully with the masterful choreography of Thomas Warfield in this fantastic and highly imaginative production.

Don't miss it!
