Employment of Deaf Persons: An Annotated Bibliography

This selective annotated bibliography, revised in 1992, lists monographs and journal articles about the employment of people who are deaf. The annotations reflect the specific informational needs of the National Center on Employment (NCE) at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Due to a refocusing of priorities, the bibliography has not been updated since 1992, and there are no plans to update it in the future. Readers are referred to ERIC, the educational database, which is available on the WWW at Syracuse University. At this site, readers can search for more recent literature on a variety of topics. The subject headings below can be used as keywords in structuring searches, and they provide links to the chapters of this bibliography.

At present, copyright restrictions prevent NCE from providing you with copies of certain articles listed in the bibliography. Materials may be obtained through your local public and/or college interlibrary loan systems.

All media products developed by NTID have been so noted following the specific annotation. For other films, videotapes, cassettes, contact the producer directly. Addresses of these companies are listed at the end of the bibliography (Sources of Media).

We hope that this resource furnishes you with information as well as insight into the area of employment and deaf individuals.
