Applicants for Full-Time Undergraduate Admission:

  • You should apply to RIT as a freshman if you are currently in secondary school or have graduated from secondary school but have not yet attended college.
  • You should apply to RIT as a transfer if you have attended any college after graduating from secondary school


We have several web or paper application options available for you.

  1. Web Application Options (preferred method)
    • myRIT: You may apply online with a myRIT portal account. We have designed an online application environment that is easy to use and continue if you can't finish everything in one session. With myRIT you can determine what application credentials (transcripts, SAT scores, etc.) have been received or are still required in "real time," tailor the site to match your academic and out-of-class interests, access application forms, update your your admissions information, and stay up to date on campus news and events.     • Common Application: You may apply online using the Common Application. The Common Application is also easy to use and a convenient way to organize your application. If you use this application RIT also requires that you submit the RIT Supplemental Application Form. You can still participate in the myRIT portal community to learn more about what we offer.     • Universal Application: You may apply online using the Universal Application. The Universal Application is also easy to use and a convenient way to organize your application. If you use this application RIT also requires that you submit the RIT Supplemental Application Form. You can still participate in the myRIT portal community to learn more about what we offer.   2. Paper Application Options

Freshman Application Check-List

Complete and submit/sign your application
Secondary School Transcripts Request and Midyear Report forms submitted to your school counselor. School counselor recommendation is part of this form.
Request your official standardized test scores be sent to RIT (CEEB ID #2760). SAT I or ACT
Art Portfolio (required for admission into School of Art, Design, or American Crafts)

Transfer Application Check-List

Complete and submit/sign your application
Official academic transcripts from all colleges you have attended (even if only one class)

If you have completed less than 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) at the time of your application

Secondary School Transcripts Request and SAT or ACT scores are required.

 

Art Portfolio (required for admission into School of Art, Design or American Crafts)
Official AP/CLEP score reports if applicable
