RIT specializes in experiential learning. You may ask, what is experiential learning? Well, it’s students having the opportunity to learn not just in the classroom but through hands-on, real-world experiences.
The most common way that students incorporate experiential learning into their curriculum is through RIT’s cooperative education program. Co-op placements are required for students in 80% of our programs. RIT’s 1,300 co-op employers include Fortune 500 companies, major hotel and resort chains, design firms, governmental agencies and many more!
These positions bring students to all 50 states and 35 different countries abroad. The
Office of Cooperative Education and Career Services assist all students with securing co-op placements.
Consider getting involved with faculty
research! At RIT, our faculty members work at the forefront of their disciplines. Classes are small enough to allow for one-on-one interaction, and our students and faculty work in an atmosphere of close collaboration on industry-sponsored projects, research, and independent study.
