EASI's mission:
EASI's mission is to serve as a resource by providing information and guidance in the area of access-to-information technologies by individuals with disabilities. We stay informed about developments and advancements within the adaptive computer technology field and spread that information to colleges, universities, K-12 schools, libraries and into the workplace.
EASI's online courses
EASI is the premiere provider of online training on adaptive technology and how institutions can provide barrier-free computer and information technology systems for persons with disabilities. EASI courses have reached over 5,000 people in more than 3 dozen countries since 1993.
These courses can be taken either individually for an EASI Certificate of Completion or a package of 5 courses can earn the participant the Certificate in Accessible Information Technology offered in partnership with the University of Southern Maine.

EASI's Live, Interactive Voice Chat Webinars
EASI produces 2 series of live, interactive voice chat Web conferences providing up-to-date, state-of-the-art presentations on adaptive computer systems and accessible information technology. One series is general information that is provided free to the public, and the other series is fee-based with more specific, concrete information aimed at IT professionals. In these Webinars, the presenter can talk to a group of participants in an Internet voice chat system while he or she can also push Web pages to support the talk. Participants can ask questions and make comments either using the text chat window or using their mic and joining the vocal presentation. These presentations are normally transcribed for participants who are Deaf.

EASI Annual Webinar Memberships
EASI's annual Webinar membership program provides an integrated, comprehensive set of courses and Web conferences to provide both the essential foundation in accessible computer and information technologies and the best, current resources to keep an individual or institution on top of the field. As institutions save costs by reducing support staff, EASI's membership program can fill the gap. Keeping current is a time-consuming, arduous process, and EASI will do it for you.
The annual Webinar membership provides access to all of the free and all of the fee-based live, chat clinics. It also provides a 20% discount for any of EASI's month-long courses.

EASI's Internet networking
One of the most powerful personal tools made possible by the Internet is establishing a network of people with similar interests and needs. Listserv discussions are an important networking tool. EASI has two listserv discussions: easi and axslib-l. The general adaptive technology list is, easi, and, axslib-l, is a list dedicated to library access issues. EASI History
EASI was originally formed in the late 1980s as part of EDUCOM. In the early 1990s it became part of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Group, an affiliate of the American Association for Higher Education. In 2000, EASI became an independent, non-profit 501c3 organization. EASI has made presentations at scores of conferences and at scores of universities, colleges and libraries. It has hosted a special track of topical presentations as part of the CSUN (California State University Northridge) annual conference, Technology and Persons with Disabilities, and the Colorado University Accessing Higher Ground conference. EASI has delivered online training for a decade to some 5000 people in over 3 dozen different countries. Since the early 1990s, EASI has utilized the Internet, e-mail and the Web as its major dissemination medium. In 2001 EASI partnered with the University of Southern Maine to deliver an online Certificate in Accessible Information Technology.
