Exact topics covered will depend on those attending, but a general outline is below. For workshop times, see Schedule of Events.
The Beginner 3 Ball Workshops will be held in the back corner of the gym. All other workshops will be in the small gym just behind the stage.
Beginner 3 Ball Juggling (Danner Calfin): This is a must if you don't already know how to juggle. You will probably discover that juggling is easier than you thought it would be. Most people will walk away from this being able to juggle 3 balls. The rest will know enough that with a little practice they'll be juggling 3 balls very soon. If you can already juggle 3 balls but don't know what to do next, you might consider asking here for some advice.
Beginner Contact Juggling (Dave Kaplan): This workshop will introduce people to contact juggling, and may also move into some intermediate tricks.
Beginner Club Passing (The Strong Jugglers): This workshop is intended for people who can already juggle 3 clubs comfortably on their own, but have little or no experience passing clubs with other people. The focus will be on elementry two person patterns, but some 3 or more person patterns, and a few basic tricks may be demonstrated as well.
Intermediate Ball Juggling (Greg Owsley): This will cover ball tricks involving mostly 3 balls, and possibly some with 4 balls. This workshop is intended for people who are already comfortable with a three ball cascade, or already have a few tricks under their belt, and are trying to figure out what to do next. Topics covered will depend on the interest of those attending.
Ambidextrous Club Passing (Lee Kolinsky, Nat Kinsey, Jeff Lutkus): If you've ever felt your left hand isn't having enough fun while passing, this workshop is for you. Most of the patterns in this workshop will have an average of 3 clubs per person, a few will have more. Patterns will include variations on 3 count, ultimates, pass pass self, and plenty more.
Diablo (Jeff Peden, Ted Baumhauer): This workshop will start with an introduction on how to use a diablo, and branch out from there to various tricks with one and possibly two diablos, and will include standard and the stickless diablo.
Applied Site Swap (Jeff Lutkus): Site Swap- What is it, and why should I care? This workshop will demonstrate some simple site swap patterns, mostly involving 3 clubs (or balls), and go on to demonstrate how the theory of site swap can be used as the basis for developing further tricks, and touch upon integrating site swaps into passing patterns. The goal of this workshop is not to demonstrate tricks, but to demonstrate how to create tricks
Balloon Sculpting (Larry Moss): Vincent van Gogh used paint. Auguste Rodin worked in bronze. Larry Moss shapes air with the use of balloons. Moss's unusual art has been displayed in 12 countries on four continents. His achievements have been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley's Believe It or Not. If you want to learn anything about balloon sculpting, this is the workshop to attend. Just don't expect to learn anything that will help with your speed balloon dog twisting.
Über-Technique (Warren Hammond, Dave Nager): Like everything else in life, there are countless ways to juggle. Warren has spent a great deal of time studying the techniques used by jugglers throughout the world, and will instruct on which works best and why. It does not matter what your present skill level is. This workshop will tell you about what your proper arm motion, wrist position, and posture should be, thus allowing you to optimize your overall juggling.
