Using modern imaging technologies, RIT scientists have digitally restored a 700-year-old palm-leaf manuscript containing the essence of Hindu philosophy. The project, led by RIT professors P.R. Mukund and Roger L. Easton Jr., has digitally preserved the original Hindu writings known as the Sarvamoola Granthas. read more »

RIT student researchers, led by Prof. Bruce Smith, have made several breakthroughs in nanolithography. Among their accomplishments is a world-record for visible light wavelength resolution—which is a considerable boon for the computer chip industry. read more »

Cars were flipped, metal was twisted and endurance was tested at the 2007 Baja SAE Rochester World Challenge. Sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Baja SAE challenges students from universities around the world to build off-road vehicles for competition in design and endurance categories. read more »

Commencement 2007 was a milestone for RIT: 4,023 students graduated, pushing the total of living alumni over the 100,000 mark for the first time. RIT’s 103,083 alumni live in every U.S. state and more than 3,000 live in 110 countries around the world. read more »
