Preamble

RIT believes the facilitation of faculty education and career development is necessary to ensure that students will have the benefit of the most capable faculty possible. The bulk of RIT's resources allocated for further education and career development will be invested in furthering individual professional/career needs of faculty and in meeting the broad objectives of the Institute. Additional ways that do not require significant Institute resources will be sought to further other individual education and career needs of faculty. All faculty and professional staff are encouraged to develop professional/career development plans in conjunction with their deans and/or department heads/directors.
