Learning Communities > Academic Learning Communities

Academic Learning Communities (LC's) are organized by major and all freshmen enrolled in the major are included in a learning community. Each learning community consists of 20-35 students from the major who share their Discovery class and at least one other class for the quarter. Some LC's will continue into the winter and a few into spring quarter as well. The small class size and continuity of peers and faculty lead to relationships that are built quickly and often remain strong for the entire time spent at RIT. Students in a learning community will have a team of professionals, such as faculty, advisors, and administrative staff, who are all focused on the student's success.
