Welcome to Spring Semester 2016

January 27, 2016

Welcome back!

To our students, faculty and staff, I welcome all of you to the start of spring semester 2016. It seems out of sorts to say spring in January but on the other hand, El Niño has certainly made Rochester more spring-like than winter-like over the past few months.

Career-focused education is in our DNA

January 8, 2016

Interdisciplinary, Co-teaching Request for Proposals in Process

March 27, 2015

If you have been engaged with the RIT strategic planning process, you would know how prevalent the topic of interdisciplinary education and research pervades the plan. Every strategic planning task force mentioned this in one form or another.

This is absolutely a terrific opportunity for RIT to move forward with its aspirations to be great through our uniqueness.

COACHE Subpopulation Data

March 6, 2015

COACHE LogoOver the past few years, RIT has participated in the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE), based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As you know, the COACHE task force has been diligent about analyzing the wealth of data collected in the 2012 faculty survey.

Program Review & Analysis

March 2, 2015

The strategic planning process brought the RIT community together and generated considerable buzz as well as great ideas for our future. Skimming through the plan, you will see ideas of expanding research, adding more experiential learning, establishing co-curricular transcripts, and many more. But throughout the discussion, the question of what are we going to stop doing? kept coming up.

What Lies Ahead

September 24, 2014

autumn“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

“Diversity in the world is a basic characteristic of human society, and also the key condition for a lively and dynamic world as we see today.”
