Graduation is the highlight event of the university community. It is a time for the faculty and staff to take pride in our students' accomplishments and congratulate them on jobs well done. Celebrating our graduates also provides us with opportunities to greet their proud families and friends.
RIT's Commencement Weekend offers individual recognition of each
graduate at the college ceremonies held on Friday and Saturday,
with university-wide recognition of all graduates at the Academic
Convocation on Friday, May 22, 2009. The official conferral of degrees
occurs at the Friday university-wide Academic Convocation while
the individual recognition of graduates crossing the stage occurs
at the college ceremonies. We encourage you to attend both the Convocation
and your graduate's specific college ceremony.
All of us at RIT welcome you to our Commencement Weekend celebration
on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, 2009. We hope you enjoy
the festival atmosphere of the campus, which features music, banners,
food and lots of interaction. We are certain
that you will come
away with very pleasant memories and a strong sense of pride in being part of the RIT community.
We look forward to meeting and greeting you.
