Future Faculty Fellowship Program

Overview

The RIT Future Faculty Fellowship program is sponsored by the divisions of Academic Affairs and Diversity and Inclusion.  The Fellowship is a two-year post-terminal degree program aimed at increasing the number of historically underrepresented minorities and women tenure-track faculty at RIT. The objective of the Fellowship is to attract highly qualified, emerging scholars, artists and researchers who can potentially transition into a faculty position within the host department.

Expectations of the Fellows:

  • Research: The Fellows must be dedicated to establishing a robust research program that will enable them to successfully secure external funding as a tenure-track assistant professor. Fellows will showcase their research to the University community through a research symposium held each spring.
  • Teaching: Fellows will teach one course in the 2nd semester of year one, and one course per semester in year two. This enables the department to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of the Fellows and assess their long-term fit at the institution.
  • Mentoring: Fellows must agree to actively participate in the mentoring, research, networking and teaching development processes.

The College of Health Sciences and Technology and the Golisano Institute of Sustainability will each be hosting a fellow for the 2017-18 academic year. Please click on the links below to view the complete fellowship descriptions.
