The Office of Graduate Studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Graduate Research Symposium to be held on July 22, 2011.

RIT is in the midst of an exciting transformation. As we grow and gain national and international attention, graduate education has become a centerpiece of the university. The Graduate Research Symposium offers a showcase for graduate work, and has won accolades throughout the university and beyond.

Last year's symposium provided over 80 graduate students from 20 programs of study with the opportunity to present their research and graduate projects to their peers, friends, neighbors, and Rochester at large. The community responded with attendance beyond the planned capacity of 200.

This year we are expanding, and expect over 100 student presentations and upwards of 300 attendees. The symposium is an all-day event. The morning begins with registration and breakfast. Oral presentations are given throughout the day across 8 presentation rooms. These presentations are broken up by mid-morning and mid-afternoon coffee breaks, poster session, boxed lunch, and keynote address.

The day ends with an award ceremony for outstanding student presentations. One of the 8 presentation rooms, as well as the keynote address, will be available live online through Adobe Connect on the day of the event.

We need your help to make this year's symposium the best one yet! To learn about how you can help with our committee, contact Sandra Turner (srt8960@rit.edu)
