My name is Kshitij Luthria (complicated right?!) and I am heading into my 2nd Year as a graduate student here at RIT. I am pursuing my Masters in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
I am originally from Mumbai, India. Having completed my under graduation from Mumbai University in Production Engineering taking up Industrial Engineering was a natural progression. I chose RIT as it offered me the opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally. On the personal front, I am outgoing and love to travel and read; I am also a big football (soccer) buff and am generally open to any kind of new experiences. On the professional front, I have two primary interests, 3D Printing (I am currently doing my thesis on the same) and Lean Manufacturing.
Being an Industrial and Systems Engineer, I am scientifically trained to identify deficiencies in systems and improve the processes. I see many deficiencies in the system and I believe Student Government will provide me with the platform to achieve my goal of making the RIT graduate student experience an unforgettable one.
During my tenure as the graduate senator, I plan on working closely with the Parking and Transportation services to improve the transportation system for graduate students living off campus. I also hope to have special events catered around the needs of graduate students and also help in Dr. Destler's mission 2030, specifically relating to Sustainability.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding graduate student life at RIT or you just want to chat, I will be available either in the Student Government Office or the Toyota Production Systems Laboratory( 09-1150). You can always reach me by email and I will do my best to reply at the earliest!
