The Office of Graduate Studies is sponsoring small research and creativity support grants to graduate students. These grants are to support efforts such as conference travel, conference fees, publishing fees, materials/ equipment/ software purchases, and other research and creativity related activities. All graduate students from all academic programs are welcome to submit proposals. Matching from graduate program or home college is encouraged but not required.
Graduate Student Research and Creativity Grants
WHAT IT IS
$500 reimbursement grant for current graduate students.
WHAT IS COVERED
Materials for an art exhibit or scientific procedure
Travel to a conference, especially where the student is the primary author
Creative and innovative business ventures
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Conference attendance when you are not presenting
WHEN TO APPLY
An email will be sent to all graduate students once per semester requesting submissions.
If you are attending a conference you should apply for the grant in the semester after the conference. This is a reimbursement grant and you must provide proof that you have attended.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUBMIT
Breakdown of expenses
One page essay explaining the project to the interdisciplinary selection committee
Acceptance letter from conference with review notes
Proof of attendance at conference
Reciepts for materials
Matching funds letter from department
Faculty letter of recommendation sent by the faculty member to the Office of Graduate Studies
