The Office of Graduate Studies is sponsoring small research and creativity support grants to graduate students. These grants are to support efforts such as conference travel, conference fees, publishing fees, materials/ equipment/ software purchases, and other research and creativity related activities. All graduate students from all academic programs are welcome to submit proposals. Matching from graduate program or home college is encouraged but not required.
Graduate Student Research and Creativity Grants
WHAT IT IS
$500 reimbursement grant for current graduate students.
WHAT IS COVERED
Materials for an art exhibit or scientific procedure
Travel to a conference where the student is a primary author
Creative and innovative business ventures
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Conference attendance when you are not presenting.
WHEN TO APPLY
For the Fall Grants your receipts must be dated between July 1, 2014 and December 31st 2014. You must turn them all in at once. The receipts can be turned in after applying for the grant but you must supply us with a budget and it must be within the time frame stated. You can apply for events that are happening in the Spring but Fall projects will be given preference in Fall.
If you are attending a conference you should apply for the grant in the semester after the conference. This is a reimbursement grant and you must provide proof that you have attended.
The DEADLINE FOR FALL submission is October 31st.

Breakdown of expenses
One page essay explaining the project to the interdisciplinary selection committee
Acceptance letter from conference with review notes
Proof of attendance at conference
Receipts for materials
Matching funds letter from department
Faculty letter of recommendation sent by the faculty member either by email from the faculty or in a sealed envelope to the Office of Graduate Studies
