The Graduate Student Guide provides primary information about Rochester Institute of Technology student and academic life, conduct, and the responsibilities of students and the university to one another. The Guide is focused, specifically, on the needs of graduate students.

The graduate programs at RIT are housed within the college, institute, and department responsible for their academic content. This Guide will address questions that concern students in programs across the university. In cases where information is specific to a particular program—for instance, curriculum content, graduation requirements, and program advising—you will be referred to that information.

The Graduate Student Guide contains information current as of summer 2010; however, this information is not intended to be and should not be regarded as contractual. The information in the Guide is subject to change at the discretion of the university.

The Office of Graduate Studies maintains a Graduate Student Advisory Committee with a representative from each of RIT’s colleges. You are encouraged to become involved and volunteer in this capacity. The list of current members of the Board appears on this website.
