RIT Master’s Thesis Award

Inaugural year: 2017

The Office of Graduate Education, in collaboration with the Master’s level graduate programs at RIT, presents an award for outstanding Master’s thesis at RIT. All Master’s programs with a thesis requirement or option are eligible. The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional thesis-level research internally, and to encourage the recognition of this research and exhibition at the national and international level.
 
All Master’s theses approved between January 1 and December 31 of the academic year they are completed are eligible for nomination. Nominated theses must be uploaded to ProQuest to be eligible.

The alumnus selected for the award will be honored with a certificate as well as a cash prize. Scholar Works administrators note the receipt of this acknowledgment on the awardee's theses record.

Call for nominations are solicited in late spring each academic year to be presented the following spring. 

RIT Masters of Fine Arts/Masters of Architecture Thesis Award

Inaugural year: 2015

The Office of Graduate Education, in collaboration with the Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) and Masters of Architecture (M ARCH) graduate degree programs at RIT, presents an award for outstanding thesis at RIT. The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional thesis-level research internally, and to encourage the recognition of visual thesis and exhibition at the national and international level.
 
Qualifications: All MFA and M ARCH theses approved between January 1 and December 31 of the academic year they are completed are eligible for nomination. Nominated theses must be uploaded to ProQuest to be eligible.
 
Nominations: All nominations will originate with the College of Art and Design (CAD), the College of Health Sciences and Technology (CHST) and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) programs in which the student conducted the work.

RIT PhD Dissertation Award

The RIT Graduate School, in collaboration with PhD doctoral programs, presents an award for outstanding PhD dissertation. The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional PhD level research internally, and to encourage the recognition of PhD dissertation at the national and international level. All PhD dissertations approved between January 1, and December 31 of the academic year they are completed are eligible for nomination. Nominated dissertations must be uploaded to ProQuest to be eligible. All nominations will originate with the PhD program in which the student conducted the work.

The alumnus selected for the award will be honored with an award recognition certificate as well as a cash prize. Scholar Works administrators note the receipt of this acknowledgment on the awardee's dissertation record.
