Reporting to the President, the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, as RIT’s chief academic officer, is responsible for:
- Shaping and driving the academic mission of the university by building and maintaining a vibrant faculty with superior teaching and scholarship achievements.
- Overall responsibility for all degree programs, including the management, development and assessment of RIT’s academic program portfolio at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- All RIT college deans report to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Increasing the diversity of RIT’s faculty.
- Ensuring the quality of faculty teaching and scholarship in support of student learning experiences.
- Overseeing academic support programs including Teaching and Learning Services, Wallace Libraries, and the Educational Technology Center.
- Ensuring that RIT has the highest quality facilities for its academic programs
- Overall supervision of the Academic Affairs budgets.
