YWCP, a charter school for girls, first opened its doors in 2011. The 9th Grade Summer Bridge program will consist of 84 ninth graders, ages 13 and 14, who live in the city of Rochester. Associated Info: Constellation, an Exelon Company has awarded RIT with an "Energy to Educate" grant that will reach and inspire students to think differently about energy. 5 high school teachers will attend 4 Saturday training sessions and receive 2 sets of fuel cell kits for use in their high schools. After the training, live online conferences will be held to further discuss the subject and assist the incorporation of "Clean Energy/Fuel Cells for Electricity Generation" into their high school curriculum. In addition there will be two Summer Camp Workshops at RIT for high school students and teachers covering the material. The dates and times for these workshops will be announced at a later date through RIT's K-12 Kids on Campus infrastructure. If the high school students are further interested in this subject, they may enroll for college credit in the RIT course titled "Clean Energy: Hydrogen/Fuel Cells".
