Associated Info: The 6th annual, Workforce Innovations Conference will provide the opportunity for 10th grade students, from School Business Partnership districts, to gain exposure to growing career fields in the Rochester Region, as identified by WIRED. The conference is designed to align with the Workforce Innovation for Regional Economic Development (WIRED) Initiative with the goal of having students learn about regional workforce areas, offering high potential for future employment, of which they may not be aware.Motivational speaker opens the conference and then each student is given the chance to attend two workshops, of their choice, in the identified career fields. The workshops are led by RIT faculty. The six workforce areas selected by the WIRED Initiative and forecast as future growth industries include: Alternative Energy, Biotechnology, Heath Care, Microelectronics/Nanotechnology, Hospitality, Information Technology and Optics and Imaging.
