Dr. Anne G. Wahl
Assistant Provost for Assessment and Accreditation

Dr. Anne G. Wahl, Assistant Provost for Assessment and Accreditation, has worked in the field of education for over 30 years. She joined RIT in January of 2009 as the Director of the Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Office (now the Office of Educational Effectiveness Assessment). In April 2014, she was appointed Assistant Provost for Assessment and Accreditation and in April 2016, she was appointed RIT’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO). Anne provides strategic and operational leadership for the university's outcomes assessment practices, collaborating with faculty, staff and administrators to enhance academic quality and institutional effectiveness.

Dr. Wahl’s areas of expertise include assisting programs on preparing accreditation reports and for site visits, developing survey instruments for programs and services, developing or reviewing evaluation and assessment plans, and designing and presenting workshops on assessment, academic quality, and institutional effectiveness topics. Anne also teaches a doctoral-level course, Assessment, Evaluation, and Organizational Improvement.

Dr. Wahl has a bachelor's degree in English from Gannon University, an M.S. in Teaching and Curriculum from the University of Rochester, and an Ed.D. in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College. Her research area was focused on assessment in higher education.

  • Serve as Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), the primary contact with Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE); resource to RIT on accreditation issues, and maintain contact with RIT’s MSCHE vice president
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the university's outcomes assessment practices, collaborating with faculty, staff and administrators to enhance institutional effectiveness and improve student learning
  • Facilitate the assessment of institutional effectiveness campus-wide collaborating with all divisions and administrative units
  • Assist provost with academic quality initiatives including work with the Board of Trustees
  • Ensure that the university meets the standards required for Middles States Accreditation
  • Provide guidance and feedback for university, program, and international location assessment and accreditation needs and practices
  • Provide direction to administrative units on strategic planning, developing goals, metrics, and reporting
  • Serve as edTPA and NYSTCE score report coordinator for the university
  • Oversee the Office of Educational Effectiveness Assessment, Academic Affairs, including academic program and general education assessment
