STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Student Government is a recognized organization that delivers the voice of the student body to the faculty and staff of RIT, administrators, and the board of trustees. SG hosts events and puts on programs to spur student involvement and participation in campus events.

SG is proactive in addressing issues that are most important to students. SG is committed to expanding opportunities for students. Student life is a pivotal part of the RIT experience – it is a goal that Student Government continues to reach higher and higher.

In addition to being involved with Institute policies, Student Government also plans and provides several services for students. Some of the services provided include free legal services to all RIT students, van service to recognized clubs and organizations free of charge and a ride board. Student Government also plans the Horton Speaker Series each year. This series brings in prominent individuals to speak at RIT on a series of topics aimed to be informative and motivational. In the past these speakers have included Robert Redford, Rudy Guiliani, Magic Johnson, Ben Stein, Erin Brockovitch, Bill Nye, just to name a few.
