Research AreasTeaching Interests: Graduate and post-graduate work in the area of High-Energy Physics Phenomenology at the intersection of theory and experiment with a strong emphasis on numeric computation.  Spent a significant amount of time considering a general approach in Quantum Field Theory for probing deviations from the Standard Model of Elementary Particle Interactions and systematically studying (constraining) those deviations with experimental data.  Studied the corrections to Standard Model processes from theories incorporating supersymmetry.  In the private sector, engaged in several varieties of numeric simulation from electromagnetism through dynamics and control spanning many areas of engineering with lots of software development.  Currently interested in studying General Relativity.

Doreen D. Edwards

Dr. Doreen Edwards was appointed Dean of the Kate Gleason College of Engineering in July 2016.  Prior to joining RIT, Dr. Edwards was Dean of Engineering (2009 -2016) and Acting Vice President for Statutory Affairs (2014-2016) at Alfred University.  Edwards holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and B.S. in Chemistry from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

She has served as the principal investigator on fundamental and applied research projects, focusing on oxide materials for fuel cells, batteries, thermoelectric devices, environmental remediation, and solar energy applications. In addition she has coauthored more than 60 publications and holds two U.S. patents.  Edwards is a fellow of the American Ceramic Society and a member of the board of directors of Incubator Works – a business incubator network headquartered in Corning, NY. In 2016, Edwards was profiled in the book Successful Women Ceramic and Glass Scientists and Engineers: 100 Inspirational Profiles.
