ASSESSMENT COMMITTEES

University Assessment Council (UAC)

RIT has made significant progress, within the academic and administrative divisions, in developing the fundamental elements needed for comprehensive assessment systems to measure institutional effectiveness. RIT continues to develop the infrastructure to support program and institutional assessment with the goal to regularly report findings, use results for planning, and demonstrate linkages of planning and results to resource allocation processes. To ensure continued advancement, a University Assessment Council is being established to provide coordination and leadership to academic and administrative divisions conducting assessment to improve student learning, student development, and university operations.

Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (SLOAC)

The Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (SLOAC) was created as an ad hoc committee (formerly the Academic Outcomes Assessment Task Force) in 2005 to facilitate and support program-level assessment efforts in each college. Representatives from all eight colleges and the Director of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment sit on this committee. As part of RIT's commitment to student learning outcomes assessment, the committee was moved from an ad hoc to standing committee status in fall 2007. The Committee provides ongoing oversight for the production and compilation of the 2009 Academic Outcomes Assessment Reports.
