Measure What Matters - Meaningful, Manageable, and Sustainable Assessment
The Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Office was created in January 2009 to support assessment of general education and academic program student learning outcomes.
Assessment of student learning outcomes is a process to ensure that RIT continues to create and maintain high-quality learning environments and support the preparation of students for successful careers in a global society. The Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Office is designed to help faculty and staff develop meaningful student learning outcomes, develop and sustain assessment plans and systems, and use data to refine and improve programs.
More Information
The Director consults with program faculty and staff in all phases of assessment from developing assessment plans, implementing the plans, collecting direct measures of student learning, interpreting findings, and using the findings to "close the feedback loop" to making assessment-informed pedagogical and curricular changes to improve efforts at student learning.
