RIT - Rochester Institute of Technology

Greater Expectations

adaptation and implementation

Description of Program

This program invites proposals that adapt and implement a learning innovation on a broad scale. Innovations include exemplary materials, lab experiences or educational practices and pedagogies that have been developed and tested either at RIT or at other institutions. Project scope may range from a team-taught course to a more comprehensive effort that impacts an entire curriculum or sub-curriculum. For example (without precluding other ideas), a project could

  1. Adapt and implement, on a department-wide scale, proven high-quality materials and effective educational practices developed by individuals at RIT or at other institutions.
  2. Integrate learning innovations and create coherence between multiple sections of a course.
  3. Create materials and/or strategies that bridge courses from one or more related departments.

The outcomes expected of projects funded in this Adaptation & Implementation Program include all of the following:

  1. Adaptation and implementation of learning innovations for a course, sub-curriculum or curriculum.
  2. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the implementation.
  3. Efforts to build on the project and broaden its impact.
  4. Dissemination of the results to the broader community.

IMPORTANT: Please articulate how your project will be different from normal work expectations. If you have any questions, please contact any member of the Provost's Learning Innovations Grant Committee who will be reviewing your proposals.
