Policies Scheduled for Review by Academic Senate - AY 13-14

The AY 13-14 plan of work for Academic Senate (AS) includes development, review, and approval of several academic and faculty policies. Policies included in the chart below have been identified by responsible offices, governance groups and committees, or the policy office as priorities for AS in AY 13-14 to achieve one or more of the following objectives:

  • To complete the review of, and take action on, policies that were in-progress during AY 12-13.
  • To review and take action on policies charged for development/revision in AY 13-14 as well as those that were under development in AY 12-13 and ready to enter the review process in AY 13-14.
  • To review and take action on policies that, in whole or part, are related to legal compliance and have been identified for review by the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) and Global Risk Management Services (GRMS).
  • To begin implementation of the five-year review cycle provision of Development, Review, Approval, and Promulgation of University-Level Policies (B 5.0), approved in December 2012.

In addition to the policies in the chart that follows, several university policies under the purview of Institute Council (IC) will come to Academic Senate in AY 13-14 for review, input, and endorsement.  To assist Academic Senate in planning its work, a chart of these policies is provided in a separate document, and updated versions will be provided throughout AY 13-14.
