Service
RIT maintains a single academic transcript reflecting all courses
taken while an RIT student.
There is no charge for transcripts.
For your protection no requests can be taken over the phone
or via email and the student's signature is required for release
of the record. RIT does not provide copies of other institutions'
transcripts. Transcripts from high schools or other colleges

RIT complies with the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, which governs access and release of information from student educational records.
This statute, in part:
- permits
students to inspect their educational records
- provides
the opportunity to challenge the accuracy of such records
- limits disclosure of non-directory information such as grades and class schedules to persons outside of the Institute without the student's written permission.
Prior
consent is not required for disclosure of educational records
to officials of RIT who have been determined to have a legitimate
educational interest.
RIT, for reasons of access to educational records, will view
all students under 21 years of age as dependents of their parents
unless the student provides proof of financial emancipation
as prescribed by the Internal Revenue Service.
Requests to limit disclosure of directory information must be
filed in writing annually in the Registrar's Office. Students
have the right to file complaints with the U.S. Dept. of Education
concerning alleged failures to comply with the Act.
The complete RIT policy on access to and release of student
information is available in the Office of the Registrar.
Grades
At the end of each quarter, instructors input
grades online. Once entered, students receive an e-mail of the grade entered, and may view their grades online via
the Student Information System.
Enrollment
Verifications
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for completing enrollment
verifications each quarter. These can take a variety of forms,
but generally are needed by students to support such things
as financial aid scholarships and loans, student discounts,
dental and health insurance, apartment rentals and auto loans. The Office of the Registrar provides enrollment information to the National Student Clearinghouse who in turns provides most insurance companies and lenders enrollment information of RIT students.
Student may use the Student Self-Service enrollment verification service offered through Student Information System. If you need an enrollment verification, please use the Student Information System and select enrollment verification , this web page will provide you with specific dates that enrollment verification will be available. Please note, if you are registered as a part-time or half-time student, you may not obtain an enrollment verification until after add/drop.
If you have recieved special paperwork where the self-service enrollment verification is not adequate, please bring the required paperwork to the Registrar's Office for
processing.

- Half-time - 6-11 credit hours
- Part-time - Less than 6 credit hours
Courses taken for an audit grade are not included when determining enrollment status.
