TLC's "Shakespearean Ode" to Thank Dr. Stan McKenzie

Dr. Stanley McKenzie
Retiring as RIT’s Provost
After 14 years Alas, poor Provost, we knew him well, Horatio. A fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath listened to, spoken at and moderated faculty meetings a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rims at it. Here hung those jokes that I have heard I know not how oft. Where be his gibes now? His wisdom? His songs? His flashes of merriment, that were wont to set his audiences on a roar? Not one now, to mock our own grinning? Quite chap-retired? Now get him to Phoenix, Arizona, anon; and then let him to the classroom thither to make much ado about the bard and send his students into a quiver! Alas, poor RIT – poor Provost, thee will be missed! Good-bye, good-bye! Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say good-bye till it be Fall quarter!
Translation: Thank you for your many years of faithful service, Stan, for we will miss you and your wonderful intellect and sense of humor as our Provost. Enjoy your time in Arizona, but we will see you in the fall. Now, let’s see…We think you should try teaching a “blended” course your first quarter; we will set up a meeting with Online Learning….
