Teaching & Learning Services (TLS) operates and supports four specialized facilities on the A level of The Wallace Center. They include:
TLS Training Area
TLS staff offer faculty development seminars and workshops for up to 18 participants in this comfortable room. It is equipped with a PC laptop computer, projector, and sound system.
This facility provides a quiet environment where faculty may work on projects. While primarily a self-serve facility, we do have staff available to help faculty with their questions. Additional assistance and training are available by appointment. The lab is equipped with high-end Apple and Microsoft Windows computers. Each station is set up with commonly used software applications and a few specialized tools to aid in the development of instructional materials and research. We have scanners for easy scanning of documents, slides, and other materials to make them available online.
TLS Media Lab
This self-service studio is equipped with audio and video equipment. Faculty can use this facility to record video lectures and voice-narrated presentations, or host web-conferencing sessions.
Training is provided for simple recording and basic editing. It is strongly recommended that users make an appointment for training and project planning in advance of their work. However, no direct staff support is available for editing services or other advanced work.
The Teaching and Learning Technology Studio (TLT Studio)
This state-of-the-art facility supports collaborative thinking and the effective use of current technology in the classroom. With a wide array of equipment as well as flexible room furniture, faculty and students can enjoy an enhanced, modern teaching and learning environment.
