The transition to college is not only experienced by our students, but their parents and families as well. You, and the University Exploration faculty and staff, want your child to have the best possible college experience. Our academic advisors will provide them with the guidance they need for academic support, major and career options, and help enable them to become successful students. Your student can find his/her academic advisor on the RIT Student Information System.

Most of your questions can be answered on the RIT Parent & Family website. Other things you might want to become familiar with are noted below.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a meeting designed just for them during the Orientation Program called the Dean’s Parent Meeting. This will give them an opportunity to meet the faculty, staff and advisors who will be working with you throughout your year in University Exploration. Our Senior Associate Provost of Academic Affairs will be there to welcome parents and/or guardians to RIT.
