Donohue is a Pollution Prevention Engineer at the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (P2I) at Rochester Institute of Technology, primarily responsible for providing technical assistance to industry. In this capacity, Ms. Donohue provides direct hands-on assistance including assessing manufacturing processes and identifying areas of improvement. For over twelve years, Ms. Donohue has supported industry with pollution prevention challenges and found environmentally preferable, cost-effective solutions. Her strong background in environmental engineering helps to identify losses and waste in manufacturing systems leading to process improvement and pollution prevention. Prior to joining P2I, Ms. Donohue was responsible for global environmental project implementation and program oversight for Xerox Corporation. Programs included energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction, sustainable supplier and vendor management, ISO 14001, and regulatory compliance for air, water, and hazardous waste. Additional industrial experience includes supporting Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Johnson Controls. Ms. Donohue possesses a strong business acumen, having been a product and marketing manager for a $40 million product line. She has an appreciation for the voice of the customer and possesses the skills to facilitate strategic business decisions.
Donohue is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Environmental Management and MS in Environment, Health and Safety Management. Professional certifications include "Qualified Environmental Professional" from the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice, "Environmental Management System Lead Auditor" from ANSI-RAB, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Xerox. Donohue is a recipient of the Xerox Performance Excellence Award and two Xerox Earth Awards in Resource Conservation and Source Reduction.
