Ranger Platoon, Army ROTC at RIT

Course Objective: Ranger PLT is an organization dedicated to enhancing the executing, decision-making, technical and tactical qualities in all participating cadets. This will be achieved through realistic, demanding, and meaningful training in both a classroom and field environment. This performance-oriented training emphasizes hands-on training, ensuring a high level of individual proficiency. Both physically and mentally challenging, Ranger PLT provides a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

Commander's Intent: It is my intent to maintain the high standards established by previous Ranger PLT commanders. This organization will continue the pattern of representing all of the Army values as well as enhancing the individual skills of its members. The Black Hat will continue to be a representative symbol of excellence within the Tiger Battalion, establishing a greater sense of camaraderie among the active members and alumni of Ranger Platoon.

Optional and required Ranger Platoon PT sessions.

Ranger Platoon sets the standard for the rest of the BN and MUST obtain PT scores above the top quartile of the BN.

PT sessions that are listed as required must be attended to obtain and maintain black hat status. This does include MSIV's. The sessions are intended to help cadets in RP to get back into shape after time spent on thanksgiving and winter breaks. And also set cadets up for success on the PT test.

All RP PT sessions times are subject to change upon the democratic request of the RP members. In addition the sessions will be held in the SLC and the uniform will be civilians. Keep in mind we will run outside whenever humanly possible so dress accordingly and also PT belts will be required. If pavement can be seen then runs will be held outside.

Uniform Standards for RP Members

Each member of Ranger Platoon is expected to meet the uniform and appearance standards set in AR 670-1 at all times. Cadets are subject to dismissal from Ranger Platoon for repeated violations of said standards. As the commander I reserve the right to ask members not to return to Ranger Platoon events at my discretion
