Civil Engineering Technology
I have enjoyed many great experiences while at RIT, but creating a 3-D model of the newly opened Sebastian and Lenore Rosica Hall here on the RIT campus was by far one of my best! I did this with two students and spent 10 weeks in an independent study with them constructing the model. It was an excellent experience to work on a team, as it prepared me for the real-world work once I graduate. It was not always easy, but I feel I have become a better student and person as a result from what the experience taught me. Within my major, I would have to say my favorite course is surveying. It taught me how to use technology both old and new. Also, the associated lab provides the perfect environment for me to apply what I’ve learned. I also find the lab equipment for the Hydraulics course very interesting as it helps me to understand things a lot better, which, in turn, enhances my academic experience in my major.
