Graduate Study > Capstone Project

The Capstone Project is an opportunity for students to complete their Master of Science in Professional Studies degree by addressing a practical, real world challenge using the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout their program of study.

The Capstone Project culminates in a 30-40 page paper and presentation. The written report should include the outcomes of the student's experience in addressing the challenge identified in the proposal. Along with the Capstone Project report, students also submit any product that resulted form the project, i.e, a video tape, text, or CD, with a critical evaluation of the student's work from the client and project mentor(s).

Online students are not required to come to RIT to make their presentation. Instead, they work with the Graduate Program Chair for other arrangements.

With the variety of Capstone Projects resulting from such a diversity of students the Center seeks to bring examples of these outstanding products to perspective students, the academic community, employers and other interested parties. If you would like to have your Capstone Project displayed on our bulletin board and/or website, please contact CMS at 585-475-2234 or by e-mail.
