About

Mission

To provide the community at large with the highest level of all-hazards information analysis, fusion, engineering, policy and response support to maximize resiliency against catastrophic events, disasters, and other emergencies.

Vision

The goal of the Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) interdisciplinary Collaboratory for Resiliency and Recovery (CRR) is to provide leadership in community- focused resilience by applying technological systems, policy and engineering expertise to catastrophic event management. By integrating resiliency principles, systems and decision support technology, and incident response capabilities, the CRR supports a community’s capability to prepare, respond, and recover from extreme and unexpected events.

Objectives

  • Combine local knowledge with private, public, and government entities to establish and maintain resiliency metrics and improve the  community’s ability to mitigate and absorb disaster event effects
  • Plan and coordinate with appropriate federal, state, and local assets to provide continuous analysis and evaluation during a disaster event
  • Address community resiliency from an all-hazards approach including fire, flood, snow and ice, pandemic, terrorism, and other emergency incidents
  • Provide integrated information fusion and decision support center within the National Response Framework on a local, state, and national level
  • Integrate emerging policy within community resiliency needs
