B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology (BS EET)

What is Electrical Engineering Technology?
At RIT, the five-year Electrical Engineering Technology program (12 academic quarters) and required cooperative education experience (five quarters) addresses the needs of employers by providing electrical engineering technologists(EET) who are as capable in the field and workbench as they are in the classroom. EET students are provided the opportunity to become knowledgeable in the practical application of mathematical and scientific principles in the field of electrical engineering.

During the undergraduate course work in the EET program, as the student becomes more proficient in applications and theory, it is possible to add additional depth in both by proper selection of electives. Some students prefer to focus on applications while other desire to supplement their education with more analytical courses. There is a prescribed curriculum that each graduate must meet that leads to the BS degree. Within this framework, and where the student has technical and free electives still unfulfilled, the student’s academic advisor can help identify career goals and select appropriate course work that will achieve those goals and meet graduation requirements.

The BS in Electrical Engineering Technology is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, Maryland 21202, telephone 410-347-7700.
