The faculty for the program reflects a content expertise required in academia as well as a breadth of industry experience. Educational consultants will bring real world examples to the classroom as well as provide insight into current industry realities.
Chair, Health Systems Administration
Linda Underhill, Ph.D., RD, State University of New York
at Buffalo. Dr. Underhill has extensive experience in industry and
teaching. She has worked with in a wide variety of health care including
acute care, long-term care and home health. She has gained practitioner
experience in the food and nutrition area and has held CEO leadership
positions in for-profit and not-for-profit segments of health care.
Her expertise in the industry and classroom is found in the application
of innovation to meet and exceed health care industry expectations.
Chair, Hospitality and Service Management Francis M. Domoy, Ph.D. is head of RIT's School of Hospitality and Service Management. He teaches in the graduate and Executive Leader programs. He has also presented numerous lectures and seminars for the hospitality industry in the U.S. and internationally on selected topics such as Service Quality, Yield Management and Globalization. Dr. Domoy has developed international agreements for student exchanges, credit transfer and faculty development. He aggressively established the first international program for the School of Hospitality and Service Management at the American College of Management and Technology in Dubrovnik , Croatia . As a result, an A.A.S. in Hotel/Resort Management was implemented in 1997. Recently a B.S. degree is now being offered at the ACMT. He is also the principal investigator of a USIA retraining grant for middle managers of hotel properties in Croatia.
Jonathan Engel, Ph.D., Yale University. Dr. Engel is chair for the Seton Hall Department of Public and Healthcare Administration. His work experience has focused upon education and research working for Essex and Union Advisory board, the White house, and the Healthcare Financing Administration office of Legislation and Policy.
James Jacobs, Ph.D., State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Jacobs worked for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and then attained his higher academic degree. He is a key figure in the Executive Leader Program at RIT and consults for business and industry in the service sector including the Stouffer Hotel Group and the Ritz Carlton.
James Myers, Ph.D., Michigan State University. Dr. Myers is currently the Director of the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies at RIT. He has extensive experience bringing new academic programs on-line in developing and emerging countries. In addition, he has published and presented a variety of economic and finance issues to the tourism and service industries analyzing global economy and service sector integration.
Industry & Educational Colleagues
Classroom instruction incorporates the expertise of industry leaders as well as technical assistance from staff. Dependant on the site of the class these industry experts interact with the class and provide educational opportunities with case studies and dialogue as well as act as mentors to the class during presentations.
