Overview of the philosophy of the Health Systems Administration Undergraduate Degree
The RIT Health Systems Administration program provides six undergraduate courses which define the elements of health care. Students chose to complete this course sequence to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of health care in America, what it is, how it functions and how it is financed. The courses are appropriate for people new to the field of health care or for professionals to gain foundation skills or to enhance their primary field of study. Often, people seeking to transition into health care from other professional arenas take some or all of these courses to provide the knowledge base of how health care functions. If students wish to complete the course sequence, and it is not part of a degree program, they will be issued a certificate upon successful completion of the six courses:
- Survey of Health Care Systems
- Health Care Administration
- Health Care Economics and Finance
- Legal Aspects of health Care Administration
- Health Care Quality Assurance
- Health Planning and Program Development
