Cooperative Education

Cooperative education, commonly called co-op, is the hallmark of
an RIT education. Co-op gives students the chance to put classroom
lectures, textbook theories and their own initiative to the test
- performing in the workplace. RIT has the fourth oldest and one
of the largest cooperative education programs in the world. Companies
come to RIT each quarter to recruit students for co-op positions.
Four quarters of co-op are required for students in our Bachelor
of Science programs. Credit for work experience may be granted for
up to two quarters of co-op.

Read testimonials
from co-op students.
Your education takes on new meaning when you’re
assisting guests at a Marriott or Hilton resort or ordering supplies
for the Xerox commissary. Visit the web sites of some of the companies
that provide co-op experiences for School of Hospitality and Service Management students.
