Hotel Management

Anyone who likes people and enjoys meeting their needs will find
success in Hotel Management. Managing a hotel or resort means working
in a bustling center of business and leisure activity, making sure
that everyone who visits enjoys the experience. Managers are one
part accountant, one part salesperson, one part entertainer, one
part diplomat, and a little bit of a magician.
RIT's Hotel and Resort Management Program provides
its graduates with knowledge and practical experience necessary
to enter management positions within hotel, resort, and related
properties. The curriculum blends many diverse disciplines needed
to operate lodging establishments profitably. Interpersonal skills
necessary to satisfy or exceed a customers' needs are emphasized.

Hospitality knowledge and skills are
provided through courses in:
- Hotel management
- Food management or
Travel management option
- Leadership Skills
- Computer technology
- Assessing Service Quality

They are also required to complete several management
topic courses, including accounting, computer science, statistics,
leadership, technology in service systems and assessment of service
quality and economics.
A graduate's education is completed with courses in
business administration, liberal arts, statistics, science and a
choice of electives.
