Human Resources Manager

Overview:
The HR Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office including the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.
The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The Human Resources Manager coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and report all payroll. (CEM & Temporary). Resolves payroll issues. Submits all payroll changes and requests.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Oversees recruiting, testing and selection process to fill vacant positions. Works closely with outsourced staffing agencies.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
- Manages and Administers benefit programs such as life, health, dental insurance plans, PTO and employee assistance. Handles claim resolution and employee benefit communication.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resource functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Prepares and maintains employee and policy handbooks. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Responsible for Disability and Workers Compensation claims as well as distributing paperwork and tracking FMLA leave.
- Administers all company safety programs and serves on Safety Committee, Ergonomics Committee, Hazardous Communication Program Administrator, and Emergency Evacuation Coordinator. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for the insurance carrier and Workers' Compensation Board. Maintains OSHA log. Acts as liaison between Coach & Equipment and Health Works.
- Schedules all OSHA mandatory employee training and creates training documents for in-house training events.
- Fill in Reception lunch break, ½ hour and work on required task of that department for a total of 2½ hrs a week.
- Act as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant during their absence and perform tasks related to same. (PBL, vacation, etc)
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Maintains working relationship with Union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions

Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or PHR and 5 years Human Resource Experience. Requires considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resource administration, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be discrete, can deal with confidential information.
