International Programs

Being a leader in applying technology to the service industry makes RIT’s School of Hospitality and Service Management programs in demand across the globe. Today, students from around the world participate in the school’s innovative programs.

RIT’s American College of Management and Technology in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The School of Hospitality and Service Management began its international hospitality program in 1997 when it opened the American College of Management and Technology in Dubrovnik, Croatia. RIT was chosen from among several prestigious American universities to be the academic model for revitalizing the Croatian hospitality sector. The college offers an Associates Degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Resort Management, a new Master of Science degree in Service Management, and several certificate programs to serve the local tourism industries. The certificate programs are funded by the United States Agency for International Development for managers transitioning from the old communist regime to the free enterprise system.

The American College of Management and Technology also provides students from RIT's Rochester New York campus with a great opportunity to study in Europe for an academic quarter. Students gain an understanding of other cultures and traditions and are better prepared to work with people no matter where they begin their careers. Master of Science Degree in the Dominican Republic

An RIT Master of Science degree in Service Management is now possible in the Dominican Republic. This program is a collaboration between RIT and Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra, a major university in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Participants come from a variety of service organizations including telecommunications, banking, education, hospitality, security, medical, and product organizations. These students are part of the highly flexible and intensive learning effort called the Service Management Executive Leadership graduate program. Courses are delivered on-site at the partnering host university in Santa Domingo. For mid- and upper-level managers and leaders, the program’s flexibility enables a wide range of participants to complete their Master of Science degree in fourteen to fifteen months. The Service Management Master of Science degree program graduated its first group of students in January, 2004.

For further information, e-mail RIT program chairperson Dr. Jim Jacobs at jwjism@rit.edu, or the Dominican Republic representative Senor Guillermo Graglia at ggraglia@pucmm.edu.do.
