I love that at RIT I was able to choose a concentration within my degree program and focus on a part of the hospitality industry that I am really passionate about – international education and the tourism industry. My co-op also gave me a full spectrum of industry experience that helped me choose the right career path for me after graduation.

The faculty in my department always encouraged me to succeed both professionally and academically.  Additionally, being able to experience how a workplace within the hospitality industry functions while on co-op was something I truly enjoyed.  I was able to apply what I learned in class to the real world of work.

The culture of the department makes it feel like my home away from home.  My classmates in hospitality are a tight-knit group, so you can make friends and form lasting relationships.  I also enjoy working with my department faculty because they truly care about students – our education, career goals and future success!

One of the best things about the department is the community-like atmosphere.  Having smaller classes and working with professors allows students to feel the acknowledgement they need to gain the confidence they need to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.  Our program also gives students an opportunity to gain leadership experiences through various department clubs and activities.

I grew up in the Hospitality Industry and I was excited to find a program that  suited my passion for hospitality so well.    The RIT hospitality management programs open door after door each full of wonderful and exciting opportunities, even taking you to foreign countries. The part that stands out the most for me however is the faculty and staff. These teachers truly care about you, you will never be a just a number, everybody has a name and story. This college, specifically this department have shaped my future and I believe it is brighter than ever.
