World Class Global Experience

The Hospitality and Tourism industry is truly global.  Multicultural intelligence is a very important asset in this industry.  Being comfortable with people from different cultures, both guests and employees, and able to work in multicultural settings is an important competence to achieve success in the hospitality industry.

The HTM program has two campuses: Rochester and Dubrovnik, Croatia.  Course credits transfer easily across campuses – the same courses are taught by our own faculty at each campus. Students can therefore very easily do a complete semester abroad at our campus in Croatia.

Faculty also lead short 10-day study visits to Dubrovnik and Dubai as part of a longer course offered at the Rochester campus.  Students can choose to obtain credits through these short courses or through semester-long programs.

Through these programs students can learn how industry functions differently in the US and in Croatia. They learn the challenges and opportunities in each market and gain competence in multiculturalism and global industry standards.

HTM has limited scholarships available to support students registered in a study abroad program. These scholarships have been made possible through gifts from the Statler Foundation, the Constellation Brands, and other generous donors.
