The Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Technology (JASET) –
Inaugural Issue

The Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Technology (JASET) is an online peer-reviewed, open access journal being launched by Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT’s) College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST). JASET will present the latest empirically-derived methodologies, analyses, and results in engineering, technology and the applied sciences on a semi-annual basis.

Student follows dream, leading to book on ADD

Christina Bryce

Despite the fact that Christina Bryce was told by a high school counselor that she was not college material, she enrolled in her hometown Community College and started on a journey towards her dream of a better life. That journey brought her to RIT where she aimed to prove that her high school counselor was wrong. As a high school student with ADD (attention deficit disorder) she needed tools to help her realize her dream of going to college. So she dedicated herself to writing a book targeting high school students and their parents.

Brian R. Chontosh

Brian R. Chontosh, ’00, a graduate of College of Applied Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology program was selected as RIT’s Outstanding Alumnus for 2005. Chontosh, a Rochester area native, attended RIT while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received a Navy Cross, the nation’s second-highest honor for valor, after a 2003 enemy ambush in Iraq. Chontosh, a captain, is currently assigned to the Marine Infantry Institute in Quantico, Va.

Emmanuel Marcano
Emmanuel (Manny) Marcano Jr. ’82 was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award February 3, 2006. Manny is an Electrical Engineering Technology graduate from the College of Applied Science and Technology. He is founder, president and CEO of EMA Design Automation, a distributor and electronics industry service provider headquartered in Rochester.
