Materials Testing Lab

Lab Location: 70-1190

This is a teaching laboratory designed for students to explore properties of materials such as iron, steel and other metals. Subjects covered are material identification, the effects of heat treatment and corrosion. Higher level students use this lab for Failure Mechanics and research projects, frequently in conjunction with industry. A current research underway project involves the engine of a Toyota Tundra.
