Engineering Information FoundationWomen in Technology in collaboration with WE@RIT received a $10,000 grant from the Engineering Information Foundation. This assessment project, WE-IMPACT-Improving Program Assessment Tools, focuses on developing assessment tools and reporting frameworks for our women in engineering (WIE) outreach, recruitment, and community building programs.

Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act IV Grant (VTEA)
2005: To increase the retention rate for the ET women at RIT, funding was provided for team-building activities, study groups and peer tutoring throughout the academic year along with financial support for the purchase of laboratory kits. Women participants were also supported at a regional SWE conference.
2006: To increase the retention rate for the ET women at RIT, funding was provided to develop a support system for female first and second year ET students which would include: a mentoring network established during Orientation, activities throughout the academic year for mentors and mentees, financial support for the membership of female students in the RIT Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and attendance of these women at a regional SWE conference and the RIT Women’s Leadership Dinner.
2007: To increase the retention rate for the ET women at RIT, enhancements to the support system, called Women in Technology (W.I.T), for female first and second year ET students. Activities included: establishment of a alumni/professional mentor network, a student mentoring network established during Orientation, activities throughout the academic year for mentors and mentees, instructional supplies for technical project (Girl Scout workshop), financial support for the membership of female students in the RIT Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and attendance of these women at the RIT Women’s Leadership Dinner.
