Natasha Sundberg

Hometown: Honeoye Falls, NY
Major: Manufacturing Engineering Technology

The best part about being a member of WIT is having the opportunity to meet other women with similar interests and professionals that most people on campus don't have the chance to meet in person. There are always fun events to go to and they often help to enhance skills, such as leadership or career development. Being able to reach out to the community and encourage girls to get involved in science and engineering is such a rewarded activity to be able to take part in.

Meghan Ryan

Hometown: North Syracuse, NY
Major: Mechanical Engineering Technology

Women in Technology has given me the opportunity to meet other female students in the ET programs, as well as network with professional women who are in engineering fields. This program has enhanced my leadership skills, as I was allowed to develop and head several of our programs. I have benefitted greatly from this program because it has given me the tools to further my career.

Madina Jumabayeva

Hometown: Astana, Kazakhstan
Major: Telecommunications Engineering Technology

I joined WIT to be involved in school activities with other female students from CAST. This is my third year being involved in different activities organized by Women in Technology and I like them all! WIT gave me the opportunity to go to AAUW conference at University of Maryland in 2011 and SWE conference at Columbia University in 2012. Attending those conferences was a great experience for me as I attended a lot of interesting workshops, which were presented by inspiring key-note speakers and had a lot of fun with other WIT members!

Kayla Pliszka

Hometown: West Seneca, NY
Major: CET

What I really love about RIT is the community.  Participation in WIT has really helped me become more a part of the community and network with girls in other majors.  WIT events are always a fun way to learn something new and meet new people.

Jennifer Gillette

Hometown: Savannah, NY
Major: Packaging Science & Advertising and Public Relations

WIT is definitely the best thing that ever happened to me upon my enrolling at RIT.  I have always been big into giving back to my community and school, and WIT has many opportunities where I can do this.  Weekend workshops bring girls from the Rochester Area onto campus to learn about CAST's various majors as well as what college life is like from the eyes of a college student.  Not only do you get a chance to share your knowledge and love of your major, but you also get to connect with other female students and make everlasting friendships.

Erin Woods

Hometown: Horseheads, NY
Major: Packaging Science

As a transfer student, entering RIT in my junior year as a commuter student, I thought it would be hard to meet new people.  Through attending the many events hosted by WIT, I have met many women in my field and have made new friends.  Each event has been something I look forward to.  From a tour to a crime lab, making scarves and hats for hurricane victims or teaching Girl Scouts about science, each experience has taught me about leadership and has made me grow closer to the other women.  The atmosphere at RIT, as well at WIT, is very open and welcoming and I have found it easy to feel “at home.”

Danyelle Greene

Hometown: Roxbury, NY
Major: Civil Engineering Technology

I love RIT for many reasons but mainly for the great opportunities they do offer. There are clubs, activities, and organizations for every different type of person. On top of that the faculty and staff go above and beyond their job description to help you succeed. I have not found that at another college.
As far as WIT, I got involved because it is a great networking opportunity for women in the technology field. I have met other students interested in the same things I am as well as professionals that help you ease out of college and into your career. It is a great way to get involved while in school and help younger generations get involved the same ways or greater ways than you did!

Corie Yodis

Hometown: Albany, NY
Major: Mechanical Engineering Technology

I have lived in New York my whole life and grew up in Albany. I transferred into RIT from Husdon Valley Community College in Troy, NY. At HVCC I received my associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have come here to RIT to complete my degree and hopefully have a bright future.
RIT was an easy choice for me because it outshines many of the other technical schools in New York. RIT is an amazing school and you truly do get top of the line education. WIT is a great way to get involved and I have enjoyed meeting many of the girls in my major.
