Students enrolled in APR are active and valuable contributors to RIT and the Rochester community's life. They write for Reporter (the weekly magazine) and for Liberal Smarts (the twice-a-year newsletter from the College of Liberal Arts); they are managers and disk jockeys at WITR-FM and anchors and reporters for ESPN SportsZone. APR students are residence hall advisors and representatives to, and leaders of, Student Government and other campus organizations; they are participants in the Department's annual Conference for Undergraduate Research in Communication and the College of Liberal Arts Research Conference, contestants (and, frequently, winners) in the Institute Public Speaking Contest, and more. APR students have held Co-op positions at major public relations and advertising agencies, corporate communication organizations and in the not-for-profit sector. The APR curriculum prepares its majors for professional positions upon graduation and for graduate work.

Many APR majors are transfer students, from other universities and from other Departments within RIT. We invite freshmen and transfer students alike to join our program.
