Graduate Thesis Committee
As your knowledge deepens, you will develop a research interest in a particular area of communication that may serve as the subject of your thesis. Choose a thesis advisor most knowledgeable in this area from among the Department of Communication faculty. To complete your thesis committee you need one more member from outside the Department to guide you through to completion. The outside member must have a terminal degree in communication or a related subject.
Your thesis committee helps you develop a thesis and guides your research. The role of the committee is to advise, assess, and help you to completion. You may design project material for a client, but your client may not act as a thesis committee member. Consult with your committee often, provide them with draft versions of your thesis as you write it and solicit their feedback throughout the thesis process.
